Bryan Merlet
Executive Vice President of Sales at ILLING Packaging. Based in Slinger, Wisconsin.
About
There aren’t many sales leaders who can tell you what it’s like to work the warehouse, run customer service, handle purchasing, and cover inside sales, all before they ever made an outside call. Bryan Merlet can. He’s spent his entire 31-year career at ILLING Packaging, and he’s worked nearly every job in the building.
That full-company perspective shapes everything about how Bryan sells, which is to say, how he doesn’t sell in the traditional sense. His largest customers don’t just buy from ILLING; they rely on Bryan and ILLING’s internal team to manage their packaging inventories day to day, with stocking agreements covering upwards of 100 SKUs per account and next-day shipping as the baseline expectation. It’s a level of operational partnership that goes well beyond what most manufacturers and competitors can offer.
Bryan’s customer base spans Fortune 500 food companies, large paint manufacturers, and major supplement and health-and-beauty brands, industries where packaging decisions carry real consequences. He’s built those relationships the same way he built his career: by showing up, following through, and knowing his customers’ businesses well enough to protect them before problems arrive.
He lives in Slinger and has called Wisconsin home his entire life.
Customers buy from those they trust, and trust is built through service.

Executive Vice President of Sales
ILLING Packaging
Bryan has spent his entire 31-year career at ILLING, working his way up through nearly every job in the building. Today he manages some of ILLING’s most complex accounts, running stocking and warehousing agreements that cover more than 100 SKUs per account with next-day shipping. He brings that same standard to his team, trusting the potential and professionalism of his sales group and giving them the independence to serve their own customers with the same level of attention he brings to his.

Point of View
When you’ve worked every job in the building, you stop seeing customers as accounts.
Bryan’s approach to service didn’t come from a sales training. It came from starting in the warehouse and working through customer service, planning, purchasing, and inside sales before he ever made an outside call. Someone who has stood in every one of those departments sees the whole chain of what it takes to deliver, and treats service not as a differentiator but as the only way he knows how to work.
Years ago, a longtime customer suffered a warehouse fire that threatened to put them out of business. Bryan, then a salesman, worked with ILLING’s leadership to arrange extended payment terms and extra warehousing so they could survive and rebuild. That customer is thriving today, and the partnership has never wavered.
