Design what we can build.

Custom package design grounded in production reality. We work the specification with you from the start, weighing application, compliance, and build feasibility together, so the package that gets designed is the one that actually ships.

Design

Most packaging problems don’t start on the production floor. They start weeks earlier, in the specification, or in the absence of one. Design is where we keep that from happening.

Right on paper, right in production.

How we work

We design what we can actually build.

From identifying the right stock container for an application to managing custom mold development for a proprietary shape, we’re in the specification process, not just the fulfillment of it. And the sequence matters: identify the regulatory requirements first, then specify a container that meets them, not the other way around.

Working through that with you is what design actually is. It’s why the package that comes off the line matches the one on the drawing, because build feasibility was in the conversation from the first sketch.

  • Structural design tied to how the package fills, ships, and performs
  • Regulatory and compatibility requirements settled before the shape is locked
  • Custom mold development managed end to end when a stock container won’t do

The design process

How a package takes shape.

  1. 01

    Application

We start with what the package has to do: the product going in, how it fills, ships, and gets used, and the environment it has to survive.

  2. 02

    Requirements

Regulatory, compatibility, and performance requirements come first: DOT, UN, food-contact, drop and stack. The design gets built to pass, not retrofitted to.

  3. 03

    Specify or design

Where a stock container fits, we specify it. Where it doesn’t, we design a proprietary one and manage the mold development end to end.

  4. 04

    Prototype

Samples and mockups in hand before you commit, so the design is validated against the real product and line, not just a drawing.

  5. 05

    Handoff

The finished spec flows straight into decoration and delivery: one team, one document, nothing lost in translation between them.

What design covers

From concept to a build-ready spec.

  • Structural designShape, capacity, and function engineered around how your product fills, ships, and performs.
  • Regulatory reviewDOT, UN, food-contact, and compliance settled up front, before the container is locked.
  • Prototyping & mockupsPhysical samples to validate fit, feel, and function before you commit to a run.
  • Substrate & material guidanceThe right resin, metal, or glass for your chemistry, barrier, and budget.
  • Custom mold developmentProprietary containers designed and tooled when a stock option won’t do.
  • Specification documentationA complete, build-ready spec your whole supply chain can work from.

Common questions

Before you design.

The questions that come up most often. If yours isn’t here, that’s what the first conversation is for.

Do I need a custom container, or will a stock one work?
Often a stock container is the right answer, and we’ll tell you when it is. There’s no reason to tool a custom mold for a problem an existing container already solves. When your product genuinely needs something proprietary, that’s when custom design earns its keep, and we manage the mold development from there.
Do you design the artwork too, or just the container?
Design here is the structural package: the container, closure, and specification. Graphics, labels, and finishes are handled in decoration, and the two work hand in hand so the artwork is built for the surface it’s going on.
Do you handle the regulatory requirements?
Yes, and we handle them first. We identify the regulatory and compliance requirements up front, including DOT, UN, and food-contact, then specify a container that meets them, rather than designing something and hoping it passes later.
What if I don’t have a spec yet?
That’s normal, and it’s where design starts. We have a free packaging specification template to capture what you already know, and we fill the gaps together from there.
How long does design take?
It depends on whether you need a stock specification or a custom mold. A stock spec can move quickly; a proprietary container with tooling takes longer. We’ll give you a realistic timeline once we understand the package.
